Submissions
E-zine
We are seeking new writing that can be published on our E-zine site:
new poetry, reviews of recent publications. Anything poetry-related will be
considered but please get in touch first with a proposal.
Please send no more than 6 unpublished poems in the body of the email,
along with a short biographical note if desired. Reviews should be about
recently published books / pamphlets (past 12 months) which are available
in the UK and should be no more than 500 words long. Other poetry-related
pieces will also be considered.
Unfortunately, we are not in a position to pay for work published in the E-zine.
For electronic submissions, work should be included in the body of the
email (no attachments, please).
Send to editor(at)whiteleafpress.co.uk with "submissions" in the subject line.
Poetry eBooks
Poetry in English from anywhere in the world will be considered for the
ebook series. Submission guidelines are the same as for the pamphlet series.
Pamphlets
As a new poetry publisher, we are on the lookout for new writing that can be
published in our pamphlet series.
It is normally recommended that poems be initially published in magazines,
journals or reviews, but we also consider new work. We are based in central
England, and preference is for work by poets from Britain.
Poetry pamphlets are a popular and practical way to publish, buy and collect
contemporary poetry. Whilst it is a relatively basic way of independently making
poetry available, it is not as appreciated by the book trade as it should be. Financial
reward has never been a major factor in poetry publishing and we do not expect to
make a profit from these pamphlets. We are not in a position to pay for successful
submissions.
Please send 10-12 poems initially. A short biographical note would also be helpful.
Please state which poems have already been published and where if possible. All
rights revert to the author upon publication.
For electronic submissions, work should be included in the body of the email
(no attachments, please). Send to editor(at)whiteleafpress.co.uk with "submissions"
in the subject line.
Please note that, due to the volume of submissions, it has become impossible to
acknowledge or respond to all emails. Therefore, if after ten weeks, you have
not had a reply, please presume your work has not been accepted.
Postal Submissions
All postal submissions of poems and pamphlets should be sent to the following
address. (Please do not include a SAE as work cannot be returned!!)
Review copies of books or pamphlets of poetry can also be sent to this address.
